INCD - ACCESS POLICY

The infrastructure is openly available for research and is mainly directed to the scientific and academic community.
The following access classes are defined:
Partners
- members of the INCD consortium.
Strategic interest
- research activities identified as having high impact and strategic importance according to national policies.
Merit
selection through an evaluation process.
Government
for the Portuguese public administration central or regional.
Private
for commercial or other entities, restricted to R&D activities only, this access is subjected to the availability of resources.
The access is regulated by the following principles:
• The technical viability of the requests is evaluated taking into consideration its requirements and the capacity and technical characteristics of the infrastructure.
• For the merit class a panel will evaluate the requests, unless they were already approved in a scientific evaluation (projects evaluated by FCT, H2020, etc) in which case they will be prioritized.
• Capacity allocated but not used will be shared with other users.
• Inside each class the capacity is allocated in fair-share mode, except when other policy is explicitly agreed.
• Access is provided without costs to all classes except to the class “Private”.
• Services and support is provided on a best-effort basis, although there is a clear and decided effort to quickly address issues.
• Access to the grid computing service is based on the concept of virtual organizations operated by the European Grid Infrastructure (EGI).
